Super Why is Coming to Town!

Super Why and the Super Readers are coming to Miami this July in an all new Live show, Super Why Live!  The show will be on Sunday, July 29 at the Filmore Miami Beach at 2:00pm. 

SuperwhyThis awesome new show, from the producers of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark and Yo Gabba Gabba! Live, will feature new dance-inducing songs from Jack Antonoff of Fun., magical special effects, and a story that will make us all smile.

The message in Super WHY Live: You’ve Got the Power! is that we can do anything we want to do and be anyone we want to be. Audiences will join Super Why, Wonder Red, Princess Presto, Alpha Pig, and Woofster, as they realize their dreams while searching for the answer to the question, “Who has the greatest super power in the world?”

All Aboard for Thomas the Tank Engine, when the classic storybook friend steams into Miami, FL for the Day Out with Thomas Mystery On the Rails Tour! A Day for Children

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will host its seventh annual "A Day for Children" health fair on Sunday, September 13 from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., on the grounds in front of the Alvin Sherman Library on NSU's main campus in Davie. The fair is free and open to the public.

"The health fair is a fun-filled day which focuses on free health care for children ages birth to 15 years. It includes screenings for vision, medical, speech, behavior and dental health as well as physical and occupational therapy," said Ronnie Oller, event chairperson. "This year, we are honored to have a special guest, the Honorable Debbie Wasserman Schultz. She has always been a strong advocate for children and she has dedicated her public life to working on behalf of the people of Southern Florida."

All health services are provided through NSU's Health Care Centers. The fair showcases the university's clinical programs and will feature more than 75 booths representing different disciplines of the university, community service centers and organizations from Broward County. All booths will be staffed by individuals available to answer questions regarding children's health related issues or services.

WPBT2, South Florida's public television station, never fails to bring a sense of excitement and achievement around its projects. This time it is with KidVision VPK in a joint effort with The Early Learning Coalition of Broward County, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides resources, advocacy, leadership, coordination and oversight for early care and education from birth to school-age and to support to access to school-age care to ensure children's success in school. Within the first three months of their partnership they celebrate the rewards of their efforts.

"People are excited and involved in" said Lucy Caso, KidVision VPK promotions producer. "In the past 3 months we have almost tripled the number of registered users."

"We are taking an active role in promoting the value of an appropriate VPK Standards Education as the foundation for our children's school readiness", said Penny Bernath, KidVision VPK education producer, "KidVision VPK is for teachers and parents. My goal is to help adults know and teach what children need to know to start school ready to succeed."

Two leading forces in early childhood education, the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe, a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring early care and education for children, and KidVision VPK, will deliver unparalleled support to Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) educators in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. By offering the most innovative tools to VPK teachers, and adhering to Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Standards, KidVision VPK continues to develop and enhance the learning and skills of our 4-year-olds. 
Through community outreach efforts on behalf of both organizations, this new partnership assures this information will reach as many of the 948 VPK providers and parents as possible. Celebrities Plugged Into The Electric Company Include Wyclef Jean, Kyle Massey, Jimmy Fallon, Ne-Yo, Whoopi Goldberg, and Tiki Barber.   Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, powers up this January with a new version of one of television’s most beloved children’s series, The Electric Company. The new series, designed to combat the literacy crisis America’s second graders are facing, has been re-energized with 35 half-hour episodes for today’s media-driven generation with a truly interactive experience.

Electriccompnay The Electric Company television show is brought to life with a 15 minute narrative storyline that is interspersed with segments that include curricular clusters of music videos, sketch comedy, animation and short films.
The cast of characters of The Electric Company is a group of do-gooders who keep the neighborhood safe with their literacy superpowers and solve problems often created by a group of troublemakers called “The Pranksters.” Stationed from their home base, The Electric Diner, the team consists of four core cast members.
Season one of the new The Electric Company will feature comedy segments with Academy Award winning actress, Whoopi Goldberg, kid comedian and actor, Kyle Massey, former NFL superstar and Today Show correspondent Tiki Barber, rapper Common and 30 Rock’s Jack McBrayer; music videos with Grammy Award winning musician Wyclef Jean and hip-hop superstar Sean Kingston; and original songs from singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, Saturday Night Live’s Jimmy Fallon and R&B star Mario.
