Antiques Roadshow Kicks Off New Season in Miami!
January 03, 2011
Explore the many treasures hidden within your own neighborhood and discover the history and possible value they have to offer. Antiques Roadshow is back with their 15th season. Host Mark L. Walberg welcomes viewers to join the journey through Miami’s treasures for the first three episodes airing on Monday, January 3, 2011, January 10 and January 17 at 8:00 p.m on WPBT2.
The first three episodes of the season were shot this past summer on Miami Beach. The Miami crowd brought tons of unique objects, including one which yielded the highest value appraisal of the season: a cheerfully unassuming mobile
received almost fifty years ago as a gift from Alexander Calder, valued at $400,000 to $1,000,000. Other treasures found in our city included an heirloom collection of vintage diamond jewelry, an 18th century Qing Dynasty vase, a 1956 Gretsch Chet Atkins guitar and many more.
In addition to the premiere of Antiques Roadshow’s new season, WPBT2 will air Antiques Roadshow Miami Beach: Back Stage on Monday, January 17 at 7:30 p.m. This 30 minute WPBT2 original documentary takes viewers behind the scenes of the making of America’s longest running reality show and offers a sneak peek at some of the historic and eclectic items brought in by Miami locals.
