Biscayne National Park, off the southeastern tip of Florida, protects a diverse variety of ecosystems and is a sanctuary for several endangered species. You will meet Juanita Greene, a reporter for the Miami Herald, who helped lead the fight in the 1960s to stop development of a string of islands south of Miami in Biscayne Bay. Lancelot Jones, who refused lucrative offers from developers in the
1960s to buy his three small islands in Biscayne Bay. His land ultimately became part of Biscayne National Park.
